Which Direction has qualified nursery officers, that work with children from the age of 0-18 years of age. We work with families who have problems within their family. We have listened to many children, teens and adults and the problems their family may be going through and our priority is to ensure that this family can find the support they need.
Many parents find it hard to communicate with their child or children and listed below could be many of the reasons why!
• Your parents did not show you how to parent therefore you lack the skills of parenting and effective communication.
• You maybe struggling with the responsibilities of being a parent and you are not able to talk it through with someone close to you as you do not want to be labelled a bad parent or a parent that simply do not care about the children.
• You may have social services involvement, therefore your parenting skills have been questioned. You will need to be assessed and you may have impending court appearances regarding your outcome.
• Maybe you have never put boundaries in place and now realise that your child or children is getting or becoming out of control and you want to do something to make it right before serious consequences occur for their behaviour.
• Maybe you have the parenting skills to parent your child or children but due to circumstance you have been blocked in using your skills
Whatever your reasons we want to help you!
For many years we have worked with families who are vulnerable i.e. parenting, drug addiction and domestic violence. We are here to support family who have such chaotic life styles. Our aim is to help support with parenting issues, to encourage routines boundaries and guidance. Within the support we guide parents with parenting by facilitating parenting groups, one–2-one sessions to discuss difficulties parents may be having or a child may be having, working with families and the local authorities to ensure that a support plan was put in place meeting the needs of the family and the child.
We also work with families who are residing with domestic violence or have fled the domestic violence. We support families by completing a risk assessment, which would determine the level of risk, provide individual support plans for each family in conjunction with the family, sign posting the family to organisations, which may be able to offer more support.
